The ancient Irish language (which dates back to the 4th Century) is the official language of the Republic of Ireland. Below you will find some key phrases to get you started:
12 Key phrases
  1. Dia dhuit  (jeeh – ah – gwit)
“Hello” (translates as 'God be with you')
  2. Dia is Muire dhuit (jeeh – ah- iss mwira gwit)
“Hello” (literally translates as 'God and Mary be with you')
  3. Conas atá tú? (cun – iss - a – taw – too)
“How are you?”
  4. Tá mé ceart go leor? (taw – mey- cart- guh- lower) 
“I'm ok/fine”
  5. Céad Míle Fáilte (cade – meela –fawl – che) 
“A hundred thousand welcomes”
  6. Le do thoil (le – the – hull)
“Please”
  7. Go raibh maith agat (guh – rev- mah – agut)  
“Thanks”
  8. Tá fáilte romhat (taw – fall-che – row –at) 
“You are welcome”
